The members of the Husky Cycling team thank our generous sponsors and private donors for all their help and contributions this past season. As a team, we’ve had a great time traveling around Washington, Oregon, and Idaho and racing our bicycles in the rain, sun, and sometimes… snow.
The State Championship Omnium in Idaho was a blast. In the Men’s C race, Paul rode to 3rd place with his teammates, Noah and Tom, earning 5th and 6th respectively. Later that day in the Men’s C team time trial, Noah, Paul, Jordan, and Tom showed no remorse and won first place, with each of them earning a State Championship Gold Medal for their valiant ride. In the Men’s B road race, Danny and Joe placed in the top 10 and the Men’s B TTT team missed the bronze by 20 seconds.
Important:
Now that the collegiate racing season is over, many of our members race USCF sanctioned racing events on the weekends. In effect, there will be no official group rides on the weekends until Fall quarter. However, many members use the UWracing email list to call out rides during the Spring and Summer. If you’re interested in joining Husky Cycling, please subscribe to the list and email one of the officers on the contact page. At the beginning of Fall quarter, an annoucement will be made on this website as well as the UWracing list about weekend rides. The team will also have a booth at Dawg Daze in September.

Good ol’ Winter has working overtime. This season, two of the races were canceled due to snow: Western’s renown Northshore Circuit Race and MSU’s epic Bobcat classic road race. It’s unfortunate because these teams host the events because they serve as major fund-raisers. Next weekend the team heads out to Pullman and Idaho to compete at the NWCCC championships. At this point, it’s destined to be an assemblage of race deprived racers with really restless legs!
There have been some great results this season. Lisa has been a dominating force in the Women’s B’s, winning the first road race in Eugene and consistently placing in the top 5 throughout the season. Kelly came out for the PSU road race with gun’s blazing, finishing just behind Lisa for third place. And Kristina also placed third at the rainy and slick OSU criterium. At the Husky Cycling criterium at Seward Park, Tony and Dan Harm powered themselves to wins in their respected categories. In the CWU road race, Tony launched a harrowing attack and crushed the field, powering himself to a glorious solo finish. In the Men’s B road race, Danny out-sprinted the field and won his first race ever. In the Men’s C’s, Jordan held on and earned a respectable 3rd. As for team time trials, the Men’s C squad has aced the competition several times, while the Men’s B squad continues to place consistently in the top 3. After the season, full results will be posted on the results page.
As always, the Husky Cycling thanks our generous sponsors and donors for their unwaivering support. Without them, none of this would be possible!
