Collegiate Racing Report
Good ol’ Winter has working overtime. This season, two of the races were canceled due to snow: Western’s renown Northshore Circuit Race and MSU’s epic Bobcat classic road race. It’s unfortunate because these teams host the events because they serve as major fund-raisers. Next weekend the team heads out to Pullman and Idaho to compete at the NWCCC championships. At this point, it’s destined to be an assemblage of race deprived racers with really restless legs!
There have been some great results this season. Lisa has been a dominating force in the Women’s B’s, winning the first road race in Eugene and consistently placing in the top 5 throughout the season. Kelly came out for the PSU road race with gun’s blazing, finishing just behind Lisa for third place. And Kristina also placed third at the rainy and slick OSU criterium. At the Husky Cycling criterium at Seward Park, Tony and Dan Harm powered themselves to wins in their respected categories. In the CWU road race, Tony launched a harrowing attack and crushed the field, powering himself to a glorious solo finish. In the Men’s B road race, Danny out-sprinted the field and won his first race ever. In the Men’s C’s, Jordan held on and earned a respectable 3rd. As for team time trials, the Men’s C squad has aced the competition several times, while the Men’s B squad continues to place consistently in the top 3. After the season, full results will be posted on the results page.
As always, the Husky Cycling thanks our generous sponsors and donors for their unwaivering support. Without them, none of this would be possible!
