On my way to catch the bus to make the team ride today, I had my rear tire detach from my rim (Yeah, I don’t really get it, either). Looped back into the house to repair this, and of course, missed the bus. Unwilling to let the day go to waste, though, I decided to go out for a spin anyhow. Hopped on the Sammamish River Trail just off Redmond City Hall, with a friend, and started towards Seattle. We kept roughly 18mph, in a fairly tight 2-man paceline, trading off every mile or so. Somewhere around Bothell, though, we ran into a flock (10+) of chickens, on the trail. Not something either of us expected to see, and makes me wish I had remembered to grab my camera. Anyhow, at Blythe Park, just before the start of the Burke-Gilman, we decided to swing back toward Redmond. I just wasn’t able to be comfortable anymore — my saddle which feels amazingly comfortable while on my trainer needs some adjustment for when I’m on the road; guess I’m holding a different posture. On a different note, I ended up seeing someone in a Husky Cycling jersey, heading the other way (Toward Seattle) at about 1:30, though I didn’t recognize who. –Jeremy

I am new to the team, and have class during the team rides throughout the week and work on the weekend rides. Anyone else available to ride other times during the week? It would be nice to start riding with all of you.

I’m sticking to this awesome diet:

…and I just can’t seen to drop those last 35 or 45 lbs that I’ve stacked on since leaving Husky Cycling.

This blog functions as an alternative to the UWracing email list. Here, you can post a range of cycling related subjects like ride/race reports, new route directions, questions about training, cycling gear, and a myriad of other cycling topics. If you prefer, you can also post philosophical musings, life experiences, or detail the random humorous occurrences in your life. When we’re in the midst of the collegiate race season, this will be a great place to chronicle your race weekend experiences.
But of course, there’s a catch: You must be respectful to other members and exhibit the textual etiquette of a competent college student. Keep in mind, this is not a blog in which to furiously debate over subjective issues like politics. However, you are free to discuss a multitude of topics nicely. For example, if a member writes a post about how Buddhist meditation helps them win races, do not write a fuming comment that condemns the member for what you deem to be, heretical beliefs. One last thing: please do not use this blog to chronicle your sex life (or lack thereof). No one wants to read a post detailing your wanton weekend escapade. Also, no posting graphic/nude images. The primary function of this blog is to promote team unity, not divide team members over personal beliefs and opinions. I won’t elaborate further, as everyone on this team seems to be good natured.

Posting Categories: To make things easier, there will be two categories: Cycling Related and Random Topics. If your post deals exclusively with cycling, post it in the Cycling Related Category. If not, post it in Random Topics.
