A quick ride down the Slough trail.

On my way  to catch the bus to make the team ride today, I had my rear tire detach from my rim (Yeah, I don’t really get it, either).  Looped back into the house to repair this, and of course, missed the bus.  Unwilling to let the day go to waste, though, I decided to go out for a spin anyhow.  Hopped on the Sammamish River Trail just off Redmond City Hall, with a friend, and started towards Seattle.  We kept roughly 18mph, in a fairly tight 2-man paceline, trading off every mile or so. Somewhere around Bothell, though, we ran into a flock (10+) of chickens, on the trail.  Not something either of us expected to see, and makes me wish I had remembered to grab my camera.  Anyhow, at Blythe Park, just before the start of the Burke-Gilman, we decided to swing back toward Redmond.  I just wasn’t able to be comfortable anymore — my saddle which feels amazingly comfortable while on my trainer needs some adjustment for when I’m on the road; guess I’m holding a different posture. On a different note, I ended up seeing someone in a Husky Cycling jersey, heading the other way (Toward Seattle) at about 1:30, though I didn’t recognize who. –Jeremy
